By Keshab Raj Bhatta, Baitadi, March 16: Four livestock have been killed after a lightning strike in Baitadi District on Tuesday night.
The incident occurred at Bantada of Patan Municipality when lightning struck during a storm accompanied by rainfall.
According to local Keshav Dhatta Bhatta, lightning struck the houses of Dharmananda Bhatta and Narayan Dhatta Bhatta at around 10 pm.
He said that two goats belonging to Dharmananda Bhatt and one cow and one ox belonging to Narayan Datt Bhatt died in the lightning strike.
Following the loss of livestock due to lightning, locals have expressed concern over recurring such incidents in the area.
The District Police Office Baitadi said that information about the incident has been received and further investigation is underway.
Locals said that livestock in the area have frequently suffered damage due to lightning in the past and urged the concerned authorities to take necessary measures to address the issue.
