LMC inaugurates new disability-friendly administrative building

Patan (Lalitpur), March 14: The Lalitpur Metropolitan City has unveiled a cutting-edge administrative building designed to be accessible for individuals with disabilities.     

The newly inaugurated 'Block C' building, which will also house the Administrative Office of Lalitpur-12, is now operational. During a ceremony today, the metropolitan mayor, Chiribabu Maharjan, officially opened the facility. He shared that this location will serve not only Ward Office No. 12 but also two significant branches of the metropolitan, enhancing service delivery to local residents.     

"We faced numerous challenges during the building's construction, but we successfully navigated issues ranging from legal hurdles to land usage rights to reach this point," he remarked. To date, the Metropolitan City has completed the construction of three administrative buildings and 23 modern ward office facilities.     

Mayor Maharjan emphasized the city's commitment to delivering citizen-friendly services through technological advancements. He assured that every effort would be made in the future to ensure high-quality and effective service provision.     

Deputy Mayor Manjali Shakya Bajracharya noted that five ward office buildings, including those for Ward. 5, 9, 14, and 16, are still pending construction, and she affirmed that the Metropolitan City is prioritizing these projects for swift completion.     

The six-story building spans an area of 2,244.41 square meters. According to Pradeep Paudel, head of the Infrastructure Department of the LMC, Rs 119 million was allocated for the project.(RSS)
