UML finalizes 16 candidates for proportional representation

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, March 14: The CPN (UML) has recommended the names of 16 candidates for the proportional representation system to the Election Commission.

The secretariat meeting held on Saturday in the presence of the party Chair KP Sharma Oli finalized the candidates and passed condolence resolutions.

Party Deputy General Secretary Lekhraj Bhatta made public the decisions of the meeting and informed that it was decided to send the names of 16 people to the commission based on clusters.

Bhumika Subba, Gangadevi Shrestha, Ram Bahadur Thapa Magar, and Kul Bhakta Shaka have been listed from the indigenous nationalities cluster. Padma Aryal, Tuka Bhadra Hamal, Guru Prasad Baral, Pushpa Raj Kandeland, and Yashoda Kumari Baral have been enlisted from the Khash Arya cluster, along with backward region and persons with disabilities, Kripa Ram Rana from the Tharu cluster, Bishnu Maya BK, and Nita Ghatani from the Dalit cluster. Ringala Yadav, Yashoda Kumari, and Chandreshwor Mandal from the Madhesi cluster and Sajeeta Siddiqui from the Muslim cluster.
