Dhulikhel-Khawa road: Transportation to halt at night for blacktopping

blog

Kavrepalanchowk, March 14: In order to intensify blacktopping of Kavre-based Dhulikhel-Khawa road section along the Araniko Highway, vehicular transportation will be halted for two weeks from coming March 21 to April 3.

The expansion has been accelerated following an agreement with a new contractor on last Kartik (October-November).  It may be noted that the road up-gradation was stalled due to negligence on part of the earlier contractor.

In a bid to step up road upgrade, traffic will be banned at night from coming March 21 to April 3.

In this connection, the Bhaktapur Road Division Office has issued a public notice stating that traffic will be prohibited during this period at night for blacktopping work, informed the office chief, Senior Divisional Engineer Sunam Yogesh.

He further informed that operation of heavy four-wheeled vehicles will be prohibited from 6.00 pm to 5.00 am since March 21 through April 3.

Likewise, passenger buses will also be banned during the period and the public is requested to use alternative routes.

Similarly, tipper and truck vehicles (even those with passes) have been prohibited from operating twenty-four hours a day.

Due to delays in construction on this road section, travelling on the highway has become troublesome for the past three years. (RSS)
