Son in judicial custody for killing father

By Arjun Kafle, Syangja, March 13: A man has been sent to judicial custody on the charge of killing his father in Syangja District.

According to police, Toran Karki, aged 36, of Bajpur of Putalibazar Municipality-7, has been remanded to jail for allegedly murdering his 71-year-old father, Tul Bahadur Karki.

Police said that Tul Bahadur had gone to sleep in his room after dinner on February 14, but he was found dead the following day. During a detailed investigation into the incident, police found the involvement of his son in the murder and arrested him on the charge of homicide.

After completing the investigation, police presented the accused before the Syangja District Court, which ordered that he be sent to Syangja District Prison for judicial custody, according to Inspector Amrit Tripathi at the District Police Office, Syangja.

Inspector Tripathi said that the accused has been sent to prison for further legal proceedings.
