By Santosh Dahit, Dang, March 7: Bipin Acharya of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has secured a landslide victory in the House of Representatives election from Dang Constituency-2.
Acharya defeated Shankar Pokharel, the General Secretary of
the CPN-UML, by a margin of nearly 28,000 votes. However, the official
declaration of his victory is yet to be announced.
According to the latest results, Acharya received 43,550
votes, while Pokharel secured 15,281 votes, placing him in second position.
Kiran Kishor Ghimire of the Nepali Congress came third with
11,277 votes.
Similarly, Nirmal Acharya of the Nepali Communist Party
obtained 6,735 votes.
Out of a total of 140,965 registered voters in Dang-2,
82,626 votes were cast in the election.
