RSP's Kanu elected from Parsa-2

Birgunj (Parsa), March 7: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)'s candidate Sushil Kumar Kanu has been elected member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Parsa constituency no 2.

Kanu won the election securing 30,740 votes, according to Madhusudan Acharya, Chief Returning Officer. He defeated Nepali Congress's Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya who got 11,890 votes.

Likewise, Rima Kumar Yadav of the CPN (UML) followed with 11,605 votes.

Other contenders Ashok Kumar Agrawal of the Janata Samajwadi Party collected 2,642 votes and Bina Jaiswal of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party received 1,999 votes. 

Altogether 31 candidates were in the electoral fray including 17 from political parties and 14 independent ones. 

Out of 95,120 voters of this constituency, 65,878 votes were cast under the First-Past-The-Post (direct) system. 

Of the total votes cast in the March 5 voting, 4,568 votes were invalid. (RSS)
