UML’s Suhang Nembang takes lead in Ilam-2

By Kokila Dhakal, Ilam, March 7: According to the latest vote count in Ilam Constituency-2, Suhang Nembang of the CPN-UML has taken the lead, securing 10,919 votes so far.

The recent count, which included votes from Chulachuli Rural Municipality, Mai Municipality, Phakphokthum Rural Municipality, Mangsebung, and Deumai Municipality Wards 1 and 2, shows Nembang leading by 625 votes.

Sudip Rai of the Shram Sanskriti Party  have secured 10,287 votes, Bhesraj Acharya of the Nepali Congress received 5,988 votes, Gokul Rai of the Rastriya Swatantra Party with  2,744 votes, and Om Gurung of the Nepali Communist Party have secured 849 votes.

Vote counting is still ongoing in Deumai Municipality, while votes from Ilam Municipality are yet to be counted. A total of 67,648 votes were cast in Ilam-2.
