Rasuwa, March 7: Mohan Acharya of the Nepali Congress has won the House of Representatives (HoR) Member election from Rasuwa.
Chief Election Officer Dhruba Kumar Upreti said that Acharya won by receiving 10,656 votes.
Acharya's closest contender, Basanta Bhatta of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), received 5,571 votes and came second, while Prem Tamang from the CPN (UML) received 3,688 votes and came third.
Similarly, Man Bahadur Tamang of Ujyalo Nepal Party received 1,453 votes, Madhav Prasad Lamichhane of the Nepali Communist Party received 953 votes, Binod Thing of the National Mongol Organisation received 474 votes, Hari Prasad Ghimire of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party received 60 votes, Hom Prasad Acharya of CPN (Maoist Biplav) received 50 votes, and Dawa Sangmo Tamang of the Pragatisheel Lokatantrik Party received 10 votes.
Independent candidate Chitra Kumari Devkota bagged 12 votes, Sagar Lama received 11 and Mingmar Tamang received three votes.
After being elected as a member of the House of Representatives, Acharya stated that he would prioritise the overall development of Rasuwa. He expressed his commitment to identify the immediate necessary plans and gradually meet the needs of the people.(RSS)
