Proportional vote counting begins

Kathmandu, March 6: The vote counting has begun for the proportional representation under the House of Representatives (HoR) election.     

An Information Officer at the Election Commission, Suman Ghimire, informed Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) that the counting for proportional category of HoR election started from Kathmandu constituency no 1. Total 19,728 votes have been counted for proportional representation so far, with the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) standing top with 11,562 votes.     

The Nepali Congress is trailing with 3,664 votes, while the Rastriya Prajatantra Party with 1,752 votes, CPN (UML) with 1,152 votes, Shram Sanskriti Party with 441 votes, and the Nepali Communist Party with 392 votes.     

Moreover, the Rastriya Paribartan Party has secured 273 votes. Other parties have collected less than 100 votes.(RSS)
