Home Minister Aryal expresses gratitude for successful conduct of election

Kathmandu, March 5: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has extended thankfulness to everyone for peaceful and enthusiastic conduct of the election to the House of Representatives members on Thursday.     

Minister Aryal noted that under the President's direction and the Prime Minister's leadership and with support of relevant parties, the voting was carried out throughout the country in a single phase. Aryal expressed satisfaction that the election was held in line with the Prime Minister's vision of conducting the poll 'without letting a single drop of blood'.     

The Minister argued that securing a mandate through elections, which is the cornerstone of democratic process, is also the most legitimate approach from constitutional and legal perspective. He acknowledged that the elections represent a milestone in the implementation of the Constitution and in institutionalizing the rights and entitlements of the Nepali people.     

On the successful completion of the voting process, the Minister extended his appreciation to all citizens who participated in the electoral process, including voters, candidates, political party leaders and cadres, civil employees, security persons, media representatives, national and international election observers, as well as those who contributed directly and indirectly to the election.     

He also called for cooperation from all concerned sides in the vote counting process. The Minister lauded the enthusiasm and active participation of the voters across the country in today's election, noting that it demonstrated their unrelenting commitment to democracy.     

He also showed much respect to all voters for exercising their franchise responsibly.(RSS)
