Health Ministry designates coordinators for health services during elections

Kathmandu, March 4: The Ministry of Health and Population has designated coordinators at the federal and provincial levels to coordinate health services for the election to the House of Representatives on March 5.     

The ministry's spokesperson Dr Prakash Budhathoki said that six coordinators have been appointed at the federal level and seven in all seven provinces to coordinate the necessary health services for possible incidents during the election.     

According to him, six members of the Health Emergency Operation Centre and seven members of the Provincial Health Emergency Operation Centre have been appointed to coordinate the required health services for potential incidents during the election.     

Bandana Bhatta, Dr Nawaraj Joshi, Naramaya Rijal, Bimala Maharjan, Gopal Pandey and Shriya Subedi have been designated as the coordinators at the federal level. Similarly, Dr Sabhyata Subedi is designated as the health coordinator in Koshi Province, Phulendra Yadav in Madhesh, Dinesh Rupakheti in Bagmati, Buddhisagar Adhikari in Gandaki, Nodh Narayan Chaudhary in Lumbini, Shyamlal Acharya in Karnali, and Hemraj Joshi in Sudurpashchim Province.     

“The coordinator will ensure that any injured persons from possible incidents on the election day are taken to the hospital and coordinated for treatment,” said Ministry spokesperson Dr Budhathoki.     

The Ministry has already instructed all hospitals to form 'rapid response teams'.(RSS)
