Kathmandu, Feb 24: The Nepali Congress has provided financial assistance of Rs 500 thousand for the medical treatment of Sabitra Bhandari 'Samba', the captain of Nepal Women National Football Team.
Issuing a press release today, Acting Chief Secretary of the Nepali Congress Party Office, Krishna Prasad Dulal, shared that the NC provided such amount for Bhandari's treatment as preparation is underway for performing knee surgery on her following serious injury.
Such amount of financial assistance was deposited at All Nepal Football Association (ANFA)'s bank account no 34401010001137 in Global IME Bank as per the commitment made by NC Vice-President Bishwa Prakash Sharma for Samba's treatment after holding telephonic conversation with ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang.
Expressing high respect to renowned footballer Samba for her significant contribution to boost country's prestige, Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa argued that the Party provided the financial support and everyone should support her in this situation.
President Thapa on his own and on the behalf of party wished Samba for speedy recovery.
Meanwhile, Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) has decided to conduct free treatment of Samba.
