15 injured in road accident in Udayapur

By TRN Online, Udayapur, Feb. 23: A total of 15 people sustained injuries when a bus met with an accident at Andheri Jogi Tole of Udayapurgadhi Rural Municipality-7, Udayapur district, along the Madan Bhandari Highway. 

The Okhaldhunge bus (Ba 2 Kha 6257) traveling from Katari to Gaighat suddenly lost its brakes and veered 40 feet off the road.

The injured are receiving treatment at the District Hospital, Udayapur. 

According to police, the condition of 73-year-old Sommaya Magar of Udayapurgadhi–7 and 60-year-old Sommaya Pariyar of Katari Municipality–2 is critical.

Immediately after the incident, a joint rescue team was deployed.

The damaged bus remains at the accident site, and the driver, 45-year-old Bikram Rai of Katari Municipality–4, has been taken into police custody.
