Kanchanpur, Feb 17: The District Election Office, Kanchanpur, has mobilized volunteers in all 92 wards of the three election constituencies in the district from Monday to conduct the voter education programmes targeting the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5.
Bhan Bahadur Mahara, the Information Officer at the District Election Office, Kanchanpur, stated that early childhood development facilitators have been in each of the 92 wards in the district. The Office has also mobilized each facilitator in all nine local levels.
Mahara shared that the experienced facilitators who were deployed in the past elections were given priority for the voter education programme. The voter education programme will be run till March 1.
As part of the initiative, volunteers will visit voters at their doorsteps to instruct them on the proper voting process. They will mainly focus on encouraging maximum voter participation in the upcoming election in the district that has a total of 314,385 registered voters in the three constituencies in Kanchanpur.
The volunteers will also teach voters about proper voting procedures and correct methods to follow while casting their ballots to help reduce invalid votes, according to the Election Commission (EC).
Furthermore, the volunteers will also educate the voters about the election code of conduct and encourage people to celebrate the election as a festival.
The EC has said that it has mobilised one volunteer in each of the 6,743 wards across 753 local levels nationwide.(RSS)
