Participants were delighted and thankful to the Municipality for organizing the competition.

A student of Shree Yagyamati Secondary School, Raj Kumar who secured the 3rd position in Taekwondo said the event created opportunities for him as he is not good at studies.

According to him, the event filled hope inside him, and he will seek his future in this discipline.

Speaking on the opening of the event, Mayor Mitharam Adhikari highlighted the continuous focus of Budhanilkantha Municipality on the enhancement of sports at school levels.

Mayor Adhikari said the municipality has been promoting sporting activities organizing the sports programmes ‘Ramailo Sukrabar’ at schools, Ward Cup competitions at ward levels, while at the municipal level it holds Mayor Cup and President Cup tournaments.

Speaking on the conclusion of the event, Deputy Mayor Anita Lama congratulated the participating schools and students by expressing gratitude to teachers and volunteers for making the event successful.

Head teacher of the Bal Uddhar Secondary School, recognised as a model school of Budhanilkantha Municipality, said that schools have to manage fund for participating in such sporting events on their own which adds financial burden for the public school. It would be a helpful step if local levels provided fund for schools to organise and participate in such sporting events.
