Motorable bridge constructed six months before deadline

Gorkha, Feb 9:Construction of a motorable bridge was completed six months before the given deadline in Palungtar Municipality-9, Gorkha. The Chuktikhola motorable bridge at Sera in the municipality was constructed by Amrit Construction Company at a total cost of Rs 34.1 million, according to Mohan Shrestha, an engineer of the Infrastructure Development Office. The bridge was supposed to be completed in 12 months.

"The construction company completed the project six months before the agreed deadline," Engineer Shrestha added.

The total length of the bridge is 20 metres with 8.4 metres width. The bridge had established a robust physical connectivity between the human settlements in lower Sera and upper Sera.   

Chairman of Palungtar Municipality Ward No. 9, Bhojraj Pandey, said that the local people and mostly the schoolchildren have benefitted from the bridge construction. 

Ward Chairman Pandey also viewed that such construction companies should be encouraged for completing the project in time. (RSS)
