HPV vaccine to be administered at 215 locations in Dhankuta

By Kokila Bhandari,Dhankuta, Feb. 8: The HPV vaccine will be administered at 215 locations, including 141 schools and 73 health centres, across the Dhankuta district.

The District Health Office, Dhankuta, and the District Vaccination Coordination Committee have informed that girls under the age of 10 who are studying in Grade 6, as well as out-of-school girls, in all seven municipalities of the district will be vaccinated.

According to Sirjana Banjade, Chief of the District Health Office, a total of 1,286 girls will be vaccinated from February 10 to 12. In addition, girls studying in Grades 7 to 10 who missed vaccination last year will also be covered during the programme.

Addressing a press interaction held on Saturday, health officials informed that 208 girls from Chaubise Rural Municipality, 141 from Chhathar Jorpati Rural Municipality, 133 from Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality, 153 from Sahid Bhumi Rural Municipality, 133 from Dhankuta Municipality, 137 from Pakhribas Municipality, and 171 from Mahalaxmi Municipality will receive the vaccine during the programme.
