Kathmandu, Feb 5: The Election Code of Conduct 2082 has stated a mandatory provision for the political parties and candidates to release their election manifestos prior to launching their publicity campaigns for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) scheduled for March 5.
Clause 37 of the Election Code of Conduct mentioned that the candidates and political parties should unveil their election manifestos for publicity campaigns. As per the provision, publicity for the election would begin on February 16.
Assistant Spokesperson of the Election Commission (EC) Kul Bahadur GC shared that no political party has submitted the election manifesto as of Thursday.
The political parties should submit their election manifestos to the EC and the candidates should submit to the concerned Election Office in their constituencies.
Likewise, the political parties and the elected candidates should release their progress report every year for public notice as stated in the election manifestos, GC added.(RSS)
