By Tilachan Pandey,Gulmi, Dec. 13: Ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections on March 26, 2026, the monitoring of polling stations and security measures has been intensified in Gulmi district.

The District Security Committee, Gulmi, has been conducting inspections to gather information on polling stations and formulate security plans.

According to Hari Prasad Gaire, Assistant Chief District Officer of Gulmi, the District Security Committee, chaired by the Chief District Officer, has been inspecting and monitoring polling stations to ensure proper security arrangements.

He informed that inspections of remote areas have been completed, and inspections of other locations are currently underway.

Gaire emphasised that conducting inspections in advance will make it easier to implement security measures, including the transportation of ballots and other logistical arrangements on election day.

48 polling stations labelled as high risk

According to Badrinath Gaire, the Chief District Officer of Gulmi, out of the 145 polling stations in the district, 48 have been categorised as highly sensitive, 57 as sensitive, and 40 as normal.

Based on these classifications, the district's security plan has been finalised, with the District Security Committee claiming to be fully capable of ensuring the success of the elections.

In addition to security concerns, the committee has also been reviewing the conditions of polling stations, including access to drinking water, electricity, toilets, and the enclosure around the stations.

Gaire added that the security plan is based on these evaluations and that the committee has been engaging with local political parties and elected representatives to create a positive election environment.
