blog

By Chandra Pandak, Taplejung, Dec 11: Former Minister and a central committee member of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), Haribol Gajurel, has said that the party unification was carried out to complete socialist revolution.

Leader Gajurel said so while addressing a district level party unification assembly of the NCP here at the district headquarters of Phungling.

NCP was formed recently following unification of some 10 leftist political parties including CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Unified Socialist).

The unification among our parties to form a new one was conducted after theoretical agreement to fulfill the task of socialist revolution, said Gajurel addressing the assembly.

He noted Gen Z movement as expression of popular frustration due to the then government’s performance.

Leader Gajurel clarified that the party unification was not solely for winning in the election although chances to become the largest party in the election are growing and that the opposing political parties and forces were worried about that  and spreading rumours.

He urged all leftist and progressive forces to come together with the NCP to ensure the way toward socialist.

NCP leader Gajurel even claimed that many members of the CPN (UML) were in discussion with the NCP to join it and that they are likely to do so after the general convention of the UML. “NCP is for all who want change and progress.”
