Biratnagar Kings beat Janakpur Bolts by nine runs

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov 24:  Biratnagar Kings defeated Janakpur Bolts by nine runs today in the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) match played at TU International Cricket Stadium, Kathmandu.

Put to bat first after losing the toss, Biratnagar secured 135 runs at 20 overs, losing seven wickets. 

Chasing a modest target of 136 runs for victory, Janakpur was limited to 126 runs with the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

For Janakpur, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton top-scored with 41 runs. Similarly, Lahiru Milantha scored 23 runs, Sanjay Krishnamurthy 20 runs and Ashif Sheikh scored 13 runs.

Biratnagar captain Sandeep Lamichhane took four wickets alone, giving just 11 runs in four overs.

Similarly, Surya Tamang took two wickets, while Shubham Ranjan and Marchant de Lange took one wicket each. 

For Janakpur, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton top-scored with 41 runs. Similarly, Lahiru Milantha scored 23 runs, Sanjay Krishnamurthi made 20 runs and Aasif Sheikh scored 13 runs.

For Biratnagar,  Shubham Ranjane contributed highest 37 runs in 29 balls while Bashir Ahmad made 36 runs, Lokesh Bam 28 runs, Martin Guptill 13 runs and George Munsey 10 runs.
