Man beaten over to death over allegations of stealing mobile phone in Saptari

By Binaya Karn, Saptari (Kalyanpur), Nov 22: Police have arrested four people, including a woman, after a young man was beaten to death in Saptari over allegations of stealing a mobile phone.

After Mukesh Kumar Yadav, aged 19, of Fakira Tole, Ward No. 6, Rajgadh Rural Municipality-6, died due to beating, the police have arrested Saro Kumari Sah, aged 35, Bishnupur Rural Municipality-4, Dinesh Thakur, aged 17, Rabindra Thakur alias Chotu, aged 14, and Santosh Raut, aged 25, of Boriya, Rajbiraj Municipality-16.

Dambar Bahadur Puri, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Saptari, said that Saro Kumari Sah beat Yadav with a stick on the charge of stealing a mobile phone, causing serious injuries to his neck and various parts of his body on Wednesday. 

The injured Yadav was taken to Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, Rajbiraj, for treatment and then sent to Chinnamasta Hospital, Rajbiraj, for further treatment. He died in the course of treatment on Friday. 

District Police Office, Saptari, has launched an investigation into the incident after he died during treatment on Friday evening.

During the investigation, three more people, including the accused Saro Kumari Sah, have been arrested, and an investigation has been initiated.

All four arrested, including the deceased Yadav, were living in Boriya Labtoli, Rajbiraj Municipality-16.
