Kathmandu, Nov 22: General Secretary of the CPN UML, Shankar Pokharel, has said the upcoming general convention of the party would concentrate only on leadership selection.
In his address to the first national gathering of Nepal Construction Entrepreneurs' Council at Godawari, Lalitpur on Friday, the second statute convention the party held recently had dwelt on the policy and statute making, so there would not be any other agenda than leadership in the upcoming 11th general convention of the party.
He reminded, "We already formulated the policy through the 2nd statute convention held in Godawari. There was no disagreement from any side on it. Even the Gen Z protest has been adequately discussed and perspective made accordingly through the central committee meeting held in Lalitpur. The party policy, process and perspectives need no more debate."
The UML is scheduled to hold the general convention from December 13 to 15. A strong political force can be created only with right policy and prgramme and able leadership, he asserted.
According to him, UML is committed to State building as per constitution and rule of law. At present adversity, the party is advancing with special organizational plan, Pokharel informed.
At the gathering, Council's Chairman Balibhadra Rana urged the party leadership that it paid heed to the issues facing industrialists and entrepreneurs in the UML general convention. General convention's focus only on leadership selection: General Secretary Pokharel
