By Thakur Prasad Acharya, Gurja, Nov.13: The temperature drops as the sun sets over Gurja Mountain in the dusk. A herd of animals, sheep, goats, cows, buffalo, gone for grazing, starts to return to their destination. This adds to the natural beauty of the remote village.

The scene of sheep and goats returning to their folds after grazing in the forest all day reflects the hard work and original lifestyle of the Gurjali people.

These scenes reflect the original lifestyle and hardworking culture of the village. This harmony of the mountains, nature, and originality has become the identity of Gurja,  Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality  -1, Myagdi.

Ward chair Jhak Bahadur Chhantyal said that Gurja, home to the Chhantyal and Bishwakarma castes, still has a vibrant culture of animal husbandry and agriculture.

He said, "Gurja has a traditional agricultural system. Animal husbandry and agriculture are the main sources of income here. The culture passed down by our ancestors is alive. Gurja village is a place to study traditional lifestyle and culture."
