Paintings of 101 tourism destinations find place in a single book

Gandaki, Oct 26: The book 'Nepal Art Journey' by artist Nagen Singh Thakuri, who is engaged in a grand campaign to introduce the country through art, has recently been released in the market.

The book showcases 101 tourism destinations across the country. The book features artistic representations of sites from all 77 districts, including renowned locations such as Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha, Mount Everest, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site Pashupatinath. 

Singh has meticulously captured various religious, natural, and cultural heritage sites on canvas, emphasizing the beauty of Nepal's diverse landscape. He announced that the book will be translated into 197 languages and distributed to universities and libraries around the world. 

Singh's artistic journey began on Kartik 6, 2067 BS (October 23, 2010), starting from Lumbini, and he has since traveled to numerous tourist spots to create this collection. 

The first artwork featured in the book is a watercolor depiction of Pathivara Devi Temple. Other notable artworks include scenes from Switzerland Village in Panchthar, Gaighat Waterfall in Baglung, and Nagarkot in Bhaktapur, with most pieces rendered in watercolour on acrylics. The book also highlights art from Musikot Palace in Gulmi, Kuri Village in Dolakha, and various other locations, showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of Nepal.

In a similar vein, various locations such as Dharahara in Kathmandu, Kirtipur's Bagh Bhairav Temple, Dolalghat in Kavrepalanchok, Gorkha Palace in Gorkha, Amargadhi Fort in Dadeldhura, Baidyanath Dham in Achham, Pili War Museum in Kalikot, Rara Lake in Mugu, Supadeurali in Arghakhanchi, Bulbul Lake in Surkhet, Kupinde Lake in Salyan, Bardiya National Park in Bardiya, Jatapokhari in Ramechhap, Jaljala in Parbat, and Raku Bhagwati Temple in Myagdi have been beautifully depicted in art. 

Jyoti Hamal, the chairperson of Nagen News Publication Pvt. Ltd. shared that 1,561 individuals are directly involved in the project. (RSS)
