Chief Justice vows to ensure citizen's inalienable rights

Kathmandu, Oct 9: Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut has stated that the inalienable rights of the citizens to seek justice will be ensured at any cost.     

Chef Justice Raut said this on Thursday at a meeting with the President of Nepal Bar Association and other office-bearers; the President and Secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association; Attorney General Sabita Bhandari Baral and Deputy Attorneys General, and the chairs and secretaries of the Bar Associations from the Kathmandu Valley.     

"We will resume services shortly after the SC's information technology system is restored. The SC will be fully functional," CJ Raudt said.     

Chief Justice Raut mentioned that the full bench of the Supreme Court would be summoned for discussions, and further opinions would be made public.     

Massive damages had happened in the Supreme Court, the Kathmandu District Court, and the High Court in Tulsipur during the Gen-Z Movement taken place on September 8 and 9.     

Currently, only essential services are being conducted in all the courts nationwide.     

President of the Nepal Bar Association Prof Dr Bijay Mishra stated that the NBA will cooperate with the court officials in the recovery of files held by the NBA and legal professionals adding that the court should run its functions regularly.(RSS)
