Dashain is festival of reunion: Speaker Ghimire

Kathmandu, Sept 29: Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire has shared that Dashain has been established as the festival of reconciliation and reunion in the Nepali society.

Extending best wishes on Bada Dashain, 2082, Speaker Ghimire wished that this festival, which symbolises the victory of truth over untruth and injustice as well as reconciliation and reunion, should grow a sense of new enthusiasm and harmony among all.     

"The culture of offering Tika, jamara and blessings further strengthens the family bonding. Dashain unites Nepalis from different ethnics, languages and geography through a common culture", reads the message.     

The Speaker expressed the belief that we all would be inspired to change the unrest seen in the country due to the protests of Nepali new youths to bring peace.     

He opined, "The issues raised by Gen-Zs are focused on good governance and transparency. Addressing the issues is possible through the rule of law and the constitution, as our constitution is an amendable document. A long-lasting solution can be found through democratic practices and parliamentary supremacy." (RSS)
