By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 20: Actor and director Nikhil Upreti has left for India for the shooting of his dream project, Acharya.
Nikhil, along with the production team, departed from Kathmandu for West Bengal, India, on Tuesday.
In photos received, Nikhil Upreti is seen with producer, actress Sanchita Luitel, actress Purnika Sinjapati, cinematographer Manu BK, and artist as well as chief assistant director Sayanam Adhikari.
The shooting of Acharya will begin on Friday, August 22, from the famous location of Dooars in India.
The first phase of shooting will take place in Dooars, Bagdogra, Siliguri, and Thakurgunj.
According to Upreti, the second phase will be shot in Mumbai, Nashik, and Jharkhand, and the third phase will be shot in Nepal. The film unit has set a target to complete the entire shoot in 60 days.
Upreti himself will play the lead role in the film, alongside Purnika Sinjapati, Pramod Agrahari, Kameshwor Chaurasiya, and Bishal Pahari.
There is also talk that some well-known actors from Bollywood and South Indian cinema will join the film.
When asked about this, actor Upreti said that there are still some surprises related to Acharya and everything will be revealed gradually.
He said Acharya is a world-class action film. Actress Sanchita will also be making her debut as a choreographer with this project, choreographing a song that will be shot in both Nepali and Hindi versions.
Earlier, Upreti began his directorial journey with the 2015 release Bhairav.
Acharya will be his second directorial film. In Nepali cinema, Upreti is popularly known as an ‘action star’.
