Dry landslide blocks Kaligandaki corridor in Gaindakot

BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Nawalpur, July 23: The Kaligandaki Corridor Road in Gaindakot Municipality-3 of Nawalpur district has been completely obstructed by a dry landslide. 

According to the District Police Office Nawalpur, the landslide occurred in the Hiude Khola, blocking the corridor entirely.

Police Deputy Superintendent and Information Officer Madhu Nepal stated that the road, which serves as an alternative route, had been closed since Tuesday at 11:30 am. Efforts are currently underway to clear the debris and reopen the route, he added.

With the Kaligandaki Corridor being a key alternative to the Narayangadh-Butwal section of East-West Highway, travellers heading to Palpa via Gaindakot are facing difficulties. 

The corridor has been a preferred route due to possible disruptions at Daunne along the main highway. However, police confirmed that traffic is currently moving smoothly in the Daunne section.
