BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Bajhang, July 14: Bajhang District Hospital is facing a shortage of Anti-Rabies Vaccine (ARV), leaving patients at risk and without access to the critical, life-saving immunisation.

In a public notice, the hospital stated it is currently unable to provide the vaccine free of cost due to a lack of supply from the Health Supply Management Centre in Dhangadhi, Kailali.

The hospital has urged individuals exposed to potential rabies risks to seek the vaccine from alternative sources. As rabies is fatal once symptoms appear, timely vaccination is essential. Hospital officials reported that the shortage has persiste d for a week, causing significant concern among patients. This is not the first instance of ARV unavailability in the district, with similar shortages reported in the past.

Authorities have appealed to the public to remain cautious and take necessary preventive measures, especially in the absence of vaccines, to avoid life-threatening complications.
