By Our Correspondent,Nawalpur, July 10: The Daunne section of the East-West Highway in Nawalpur has been blocked. According to Nawalpur Police, after the continuous rainfall since Tuesday night approximately four feet of the road near Khursani Khola in Daunne collapsed, completely obstructing the highway.

Although repair work is underway, it is still uncertain when the road will reopen. Therefore, the police have requested all travellers to use alternative routes.

The Daunne section faces problems even during the dry season, and the situation worsens in the rainy season. Even light rain makes the road slippery and unfit for driving, while heavy rain often causes road collapse and landslides, making travel through this route extremely difficult.

Superintendent of Police Yadav Dhakal, Chief of the District Police Office, said that the Chinese contractor had demolished parts of the road for expansion, but failed to carry out timely repairs, which has worsened the situation during the monsoon.
