By Our Correspondent,Damak, June 12: A person has been caught red-handed while attempting to sell a stolen buffalo in Jhapa. The buffalo, which belonged to Khagendra Karki of Jhapa Rural Municipality-6, was stolen and about to be sold when police arrested a local man.

According to the District Police Office, Jhapa, 19-year-old Binod Baniya was arrested while attempting to sell Karki's buffalo.

He was caught by police near the Biring River, located at the border of Jhapa Rural Municipality and Barhadashi Rural Municipality.

Baniya had stolen and brought the buffalo to the river when its owner had left the animal tying with a long rope in a field so that could graze there. But Baniya took it away when Kakri was not seen around.

Baniya was trying to sell it at a cheap price by calling interested buyers.

Locals grew suspicious that the buffalo might have been stolen and informed the police.
