By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 2: The government has announced a plan to return the money of the depositors of the crisis-ridden Cooperatives by establishing a fund at the National Cooperative Regulation Authority.
President
Ramchandra Paudel said so while presenting the government policy and programme
for the fiscal year of 2025/2026 at the joint meeting of the federal parliament
today.
Those with
small amount of deposits will be provided in the first phase and that the
government review the cooperative policy.
The government will also establish a digital information system to manage records of cooperatives.
Victims of
cooperatives have been protesting saying that government has not implemented
the policy of current fiscal year to return the amount of depositors of crisis-ridden
cooperatives of a sum up to five lakh rupees.
