Kathmandu, May 1: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called upon one and all to participate in the nation's journey to prosperity.
Speaking at a programme organised on the occasion of the 136th International Labour Day here today, he stressed the need for cooperation and coordination of all as the government would make the coming decade a decade to promote domestic prosperity.
Stating that the government was formulating a strategic action plan to make the coming decade a decade of promotion of internal prosperity, PM Oli called upon all bodies, classes, communities and regions, among the various sectors to participate in the country's journey of prosperity.
On the occasion, he wished that everyone should be inspired to develop a culture of respect for labour and unite in the resolve of socialism-oriented prosperous Nepal.
Labour Minister confident Shramsansar portal to be resourceful tool
Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Sharat Singh Bhandari, has said that the 'Shramsansar' portal would put an end to the narrative of getting employment on the basis of access to political power and through informal requests.
Inaugurating the 'Shramsansar' portal on the occasion of the 136th International Labour Day here today, he said the youths could work anywhere in the country on the basis of their qualifications and abilities.
"We are breaking the narrative that access and special backdoor request to people in power will provide employment. Now the situation has been created for the citizens with qualifications and abilities to get employment easily," he said.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had inaugurated the portal virtually. The Ministry had developed the portal.
On the occasion, Minister Bhandari expressed his commitment to launch a campaign to provide all types of labour and employment related services from the local level.
"This portal has been launched from today. All local levels and workers will have access to it through mobile applications. Along with this, the Ministry will launch a campaign to provide all types of labor and employment related services from the local level itself," he said.
Minister Bhandari expressed the belief that the Shramsansar Portal would help in the labor market information system for effective implementation of the 'Domestic Employment Promotion Decade' announced by the government.
Chief Secretary of the government, Eak Narayan Aryal, said that the portal would play an important and helpful role in the promotion of internal employment. He stressed that all the three tiers of the government will own it for its success.
Country Director of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Office in Nepal, Numan Özcan, pointed out the need to maintain the trust of job seekers along with other stakeholders in the Shramsansar Portal.
The Portal aims to support employment-related matters, analyze labour demand and supply, regulate employers, and improve access to services without physical or bureaucratic barriers. By enhancing skills and regulating the labour force, the system seeks to promote grassroots inclusion and contribute to national prosperity. (RSS)
