Patan (Lalitpur), May 1: Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged migrant Nepalis to support in achieving speedy economic prosperity by utilizing skill learned in foreign land and investing capital in the country.
Addressing an interaction on 'Nepali Diasporas: Government's Responsibility and Role of People's Liaison Committees' organized by the Overseas Nepali People's Liaison Committee Coordination Department of the Nepali Congress at the party office, Sanepa, today President Deuba mentioned that the NC was actively working to create the environment in all province bodies that meets the aspiration of the migrant Nepalis and involve capable individuals.
"They staying out of the country are thinking for the welfare of the nation and people. We have made efforts to incorporate them in party's general convention and Maha Samiti. We will take initiatives for their representation in central committee through general convention even by making changes in party's statute," he opined.
President Deuba shared that strong support and cooperation of the overseas migrant Nepalis was necessary to strengthen democratic republic in the country.
Similarly, NC Vice President Dhan Raj Gurung, expressed the belief that such type of interactions and discussion would help carryout activities in order to resolve problems.
Saying Nepalis staying in foreign land have been facing problems due to delay in general works including visa renewal and labour permit, he stressed the need of establishing a desk at the party headquarters for the facilitation.
He urged the participants to provide suggestions to the party focusing their discussion on the issue of creating investment-friendly environment to work easily in Nepal by resolving problems facing by Non-Resident Nepalis.
Likewise, former Vice-President of the NC, Gopal Man Shrestha, shared that the party should play significant role in the government and parliament for the welfare of all Nepali migrant workers preparing people's vote in favour of party.
Saying it was necessary to hold interaction continuously to make role of people's liaison committee effective, former general-secretary Bimalendra Nidhi pointed out the need of playing role to create people's vote and for economic prosperity in federal democratic republic system by connecting Nepali's around the world.
Similarly, former general-secretary of the party, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, laid emphasis that the party should stressed in making effective laws for the policy-level arrangement in favour of migrant Nepalis.
Department Chief Kiran Raj Poudel shared that there are 37 people's Liaison Committees in 20 foreign countries and a target has been set to form such committee in more than 40 countries. (RSS)
