Call to give priority to Karnali in budget

blog

Kathmandu, April 29: Binita Kathayat of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has demanded the government give priority to the Karnali province in the announcement of a budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

She stressed that at least 15 percent of the total capital expenditures should be allocated for development of roadways, transport, education, and health and employment sectors in Karnali.

Airing her views in a special hour of the House of Representatives meeting today, she accused the State of depriving the Karnali of budget and resources. She also accused the government of overlooking the representation of Karnali during the appointments on the state bodies.

Polices and laws capable of promoting the province are required, she said.

Mahendra Ray Yadav said the government is not serious about the demands of school teachers. " The ongoing teachers' protest has adversely affected the teaching learning activities of students.  The issue should be resolved through talks," he said. (RSS)
