Kathmandu, April 28: The major opposition CPN (Maoist Centre) has registered a resolution of urgent public importance demanding discussion in the House to address the demands of the agitating teachers and doctors.
Party Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey said the government has ignored the voices of the agitating teachers as well as the doctors agitating for professional rights.
Chief Whip of Rastriya Swatantra Party Santosh Pariyar, Lawmaker of CPN (Unified Socialist) Sher Bahadur Kunwar, Chair of AamJanata Party PrabhuSah and Chair of Rastriya Janamorcha Chitra Bahadur KC have seconded the resolution.
The resolution points out six reasons that the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the Ministry of Health and Population should hold discussion on the matter.
The resolution has been made to implement the agreements signed between the government and the Federation of Nepal Teachers in the past. "The government's negligence towards an important matter like school education is a sign of its irresponsible behaviour," reads the resolution, adding, "The government did not give any serious attention towards the Kathmandu-centric teachers' movement after the relay hunger strike at the Education and Human Resource Development Center through the central offices of the local level, province and political parties for the advancement of the overall education sector."
The resolution should be discussed to make health services of quality and accessible with the implementation of the decisions taken by the Medical Education Commission and move ahead with the education of millions of students. (RSS)
