Kimathanka (Sankhuwasabha), April 28: Seventeen buffaloes have died after being struck by a lightning in Lopatal of Makalu Rural Municipality-3 in Sankhuwasabha.
The buffaloes had been taken to the forest to graze when the incident took place in the midst of rainfall, said Police Inspector at the District Police Office Ram Kumar Lamichhane.
The 17 buffaloes were owned by Pushpalal Bhandari and Prem Prasad Bhandari of Makalu-3, who have suffered a loss of more than Rs 1 million.
Soon after being reported about the incident, a team from the Area Police Office Hedangnagadhi has rushed to the incident site today.
The incident site is located 35 kilometers away from the Area Police Office Hedangnagadhi. (RSS)
