PM sees off mountaineer Chhantyal

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Apr. 28: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli bade farewell to Armed Police Force Assistant Inspector Danta Bahadur Chhantyal, who is preparing to climb Mount Everest to promote the Sagarmatha Sambad programme. 

During a programme held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on Sunday, Prime Minister Oli extended his best wishes for Chhantyal’s successful ascent. 

During the expedition, Chhantyal will also study the impacts of climate change and prepare a report. 

A banner with the inscription ‘Sagarmatha Sambad’ was handed over to him during the event. 

The farewell ceremony was attended by Chief Secretary of the government, Eak Narayan Aryal, Inspector General of the Armed Police Force, Raju Aryal and other officials. 

The Sagarmatha Sambad, which is being organised by the government of Nepal, is scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from May 16 to 18.
