Kathmandu, April 23: The Kathmandu District Court has remanded Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Rabindra Mishra, Medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai and 24 persons others to custody for more three days.
Leader Mishra and Prasai, have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the demonstrations, vandalism, arson and other incidents that took place at Tinkune of Kathmandu on March 28.
Spokesperson of the District Police Complex, Kathmandu, Police Superintendent Apilraj Bohara shared that the court has extended three more day for investigation after they were produced in the Kathmandu District Court today.
Eighty-five people were arrested and investigated. Currently, 64 people are being investigated after 21 were released on bail.
Among them, twenty-four including Prasai and Mishra, have been charged with crimes against the state (treason) and organised crime.
The rest are charged with aggravated assault and organized crime.
Two people including a journalist were killed and dozens were injured when protests held by monarchists in Tinkune turned violent. Government and private structures were set on fire.(RSS)
