Progressive Professors Organisation elects 151-member committee led by Dr Khatiwada

Kathmandu, April 23: Dr Padma Prasad Khatiwada has been elected the Chair of the Progressive Professors Oganisation. The 11th National Conference of the Organisation elected 151-member central committee unopposed under Dr Khatiwada's leadership. 

The new leadership includes Manoj Bista as the senior vice chair and Narendra Koirala, Bharat Rai, Tej Bikram Basnet, Ramji Pokhrel, Balaram Rayamajhi, Dr Tilak Bhusal, Narendra Shiwakot and Maya Ghimire as the vice chairs. 

Likewise, Suman Kharel is the general secretary, Nanda Kishor Nepal, Dinesh Panthi and Dr Devraj are  the deputy general secretaries, Hom Bahadur Basnet, Kishor Shah, Chhabi Baral, Shrikant Khatiwada, Bhuwaneshwor Lamichhane, Bishnu Kumar Khadka and Krishna Singh Saud are the secretaries while Krishna Ojha is the treasurer and Chandra Badana Rai is the joint treasurer on the new committee.

The two-day conference was inaugurated by Prime Minister and the CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli on April 21. (RSS)
