Kathmandu, April 17: 2.2 million children throughout the country are being administered Vitamin A and deworming tablets on Saturday and Sunday.
According to the Department of Health Services, under the 'National Vitamin A' Program, Vitamin A capsules will be administered to approximately 2.2 million children aged six months to 59 months.
On the same day, around 1.9 million children between the ages of one and five will be given deworming tablets. Children will be given Balbita and malnutrition tests will also be conducted on children.
About 52,000 female health volunteers and 15,000 health workers will be mobilized in the 'National Vitamin A' Program.
The government has been making arrangements to provide free vitamin A and deworming medicine to children every year in November and April.
