Body of Chinese tourist brought to Kathmandu

By Madhav Prasad Baral, Machhapuchhre (Kaski), April 6: The body of a Chinese national who died in an avalanche while returning from Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) in Kaski has been brought to Kathmandu.

The body of Yi Cheng Yuan, a 27-year-old Chinese citizen who went missing when an avalanche hit Chumrung in Deurali, Annapurna Rural Municipality-11, since March 24, was found along the Madi River on Saturday.

His body was found thirteen days later, on April 5.

According to the Armed Police Force Kalika Battalion, Commander and Armed Police Superintendent Surya Timilsena, the body of the Chinese citizen has been sent to the Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu via a Simrik Air helicopter.

According to the police, the body will be handed over to the relatives after a post-mortem. His relatives are preparing to take the body to China on Sunday.

A police rescue team found a 27-year-old Chinese national lying face down, carrying a bag.

 A special rescue team under the command of Assistant Inspector Bishwaraj Tripathi of the Kalika Battalion, along with the Nepal Police, was deployed for the rescue mission.
