By Rammani Dahal, Makwanpur, Apr.2: A fire has broken out at the army barracks located on the premises of the Nepal Army's Multi-Purpose Plastic Factory in Bhimphedi, Makawanpur.

A building housing Armies, was destroyed in a fire on Wednesday morning.

Police Inspector Lalita Dhakal of the Area Police Office, Bhimphedi, said that about 10 rooms of the barracks where army personnel were staying were completely damaged due to an electrical short circuit.

She said that the fire started at 7:30 AM. It was difficult to douse the fire as the houses were made of wood and mud.

She said, "A third of the building where the army personnel were staying has been destroyed by fire. Since it was a house made of mud and wood from the Rana period, it was difficult to control the fire even with the use of fire engines."

No human casualties have been reported. Belongings at the barracks had been removed.
