Kathmandu, March 27: Gopi Krishna Chapagain, who has been active in Nepali art journalism for the past decade, has been awarded the National Digital Media Film Journalism Award 2081.
The award was presented to Chapagain in recognition of his contribution to Art journalism at the Second National Digital Media Awards 2081 organized by News Express Media Pvt. Ltd. on Wednesday (26 March / Chaitra 13).
At the ceremony, he received the award from guests including Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Indira Rana Magar, MP Ganesh Parajuli, and President of the Online TV Journalists Association Jeevan Bhandari.
Journalist Chapagain, after receiving the award, said that he still has a lot to do and learn in the field of digital media. "Although this kind of award has encouraged me a bit, I feel that it has made me more responsible. Nowadays, there are so many digital media, it is necessary to be different and increase the credibility of the audience." Journalist Chapagain said, "I would like to express my gratitude to the organizers for considering me worthy and presenting me with the award."
Chapagain specializes in arts journalism, reporting on genres including film, music videos, and drama. He has been the publisher and editor of www.artistkhabar.com online since 2015. His video interviews can be viewed by thousands of people on his official YouTube and Facebook pages.
He has also worked as a news anchor for Devchuli Television in his home district of Nawalparasi (East of Bardaghat Susta), and has also worked for the Himalaya Times national daily and Himalaya Television in Kathmandu.
Senior journalist Harihar Birhi was honored with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' at the Second National Digital Media Awards 2081. Similarly, journalists Jagdish Kharel, Thakur Belbase, Mamta Thapa, Rohit Bhandari, Sanjeev Regmi, Keshavraj Joshi, Nawaraj Kunwar, Bhojraj Thapa, among others, were honored.
