Former chairman of Gorkhapatra Corporation Basnet cremated at Aryaghat

Kathmandu, March 22: Last rites of the Former executive chairman of Gorkhapatra Corporation Mathawar Singh Basnet were performed at Pashupati Aryaghat in Kathmandu on Saturday.   

According to RSS, earlier, the Nepali Congress (NC) Bhaktapur district working committee had organized a condolence meeting.     

NC leader and Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey, CPN (UML) leader Raghujee Pant, Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP)'s leader Santosh Pariyar, NC leader NP Saud, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deepak Thapa, Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Chair Nirmala Sharma and NC leaders and parliamentarians as well as well-wishers and journalists paid tribute to the late Basnet.     

Basnet, also the former Chairperson of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), passed away this morning while undergoing treatment at Maitighar-based Annapurna Neuro Hospital.
