Kathmandu, March 21: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said Nepal has seen gradual progress in the treatment and care of kidney diseases.
He expressed his hope that Nepal will be in the position of providing quality care services at a very affordable price.
Inaugurating the fifth Conference of Nepal Society of Nephrology here on Friday, the Prime Minister called for making the ' Healthy Nepal' Campaign a success by increasing health awareness with reduction of poverty.
The Prime Minister, who himself has undergone a kidney transplant twice, said he felt a sense of pride to undergo the kidney transplant (second time) inside the country itself as the Prime Minister.
"The service was not available at home and I had to go India for the transplant during the first case," he said.
The conclusions of the conference will be useful for Nepal to make policy reforms, the head of the government said, pledging the government support for the cause of kidney health.
