Nepalgunj, March 17: Police have arrested 65 absconding defendants in the month of Falgun (13 February 13 March) in Banke.
The District Police Office has
arrested 65 defendants – who have been at large for a long time after
committing various types of crimes and handed them over to the District Court,
informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office,
Deepak Patali.
Police have arrested the absconding
defendants and sentenced them to 15 years, two months and 18 days in jail and
recovered a fine of Rs 435,055.
According to the District Police
Office, Nepalgunj Customs Office has seized illegal customs goods worth Rs
1,471,875 from Nepalgunj and fined Rs 48,000 after seizing four tippers and two
tractors for illegally extracting river-based products.
The District Police Office shared
that 102 people have been arrested in connection with 131 cases registered in
the district in the month.
A total of 65 pending cases have
been settled during the period. According to police, revenue of Rs 2,911,500
was collected by taking action against 3,614 vehicles in the traffic operation
carried out in the district during the period. (RSS)
