Focusing on cultural prosperity, diversity preservation in Kaligandaki

By Radhakrishna Dumre,Walling, Mar. 16: A cultural festival has been organised in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality, Syangja, to preserve and promote cultural prosperity and diversity.

According to Rural Municipality Chairperson Khim Bahadur Thapa, the festival was held to showcase and safeguard the cultural heritage and traditions of various ethnic groups and communities within the municipality.

Different ethnic groups and communities participated in the event, presenting performances that reflected their unique identities. 

The Kaligandaki Pragya Pratisthan, formed by the rural municipality, organised the festival to coincide with Holi Purnima.

Chief Administrative Officer of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality, Parshuram Pokharel, said that the festival aimed to establish the religious and cultural sites within the municipality as major destinations.

The event featured traditional and cultural performances such as Bhajan, Chudka, Khayali, Maruni, Jhyaure, Naumati Baja, Ratyouli, Lakhe and Balan songs. 

Additionally, visitors had the opportunity to taste traditional local cuisine.
